CDF Transforms Ndola Central Constituency

zambia new: Ndola, August 24, 2024 – The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has made a significant impact in Ndola Central, with Member of Parliament Frank Museba Tayali proudly showcasing the results of various development projects. Tayali’s mid-term review underscores the transformative changes that have occurred in the constituency, reflecting his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.

Achievements and Projects Completed

Under Tayali’s stewardship, Ndola Central has realized 20 key infrastructure projects funded by the CDF. These initiatives include:

  • Educational Facilities: Construction of a 1×3 classroom block at Lesa Waluse in Dag Hammarskjöld and Chibolele in Chipulukusu wards, and the procurement of 2,140 desks and 20 desktop computers for schools.
  • Healthcare Improvements: The establishment of George Clinic in Dag Hammarskjöld ward and a laboratory at Kansenshi Secondary School.
  • Infrastructure Enhancements: Construction of bridges in Dag Hammarskjöld, Nkwazi, and Kansenshi wards, and the upgrade of the car park at Ndola Teaching Hospital at a cost of K1 million.
  • Sanitation and Water Projects: Delivery of potable water to Chipulukusu, Twapia, and Nkwazi wards, along with the erection of ablution blocks at Twapia Market, Nkwazi Primary School, and Hillcrest Market.

Tayali emphasized his gratitude to the people of Ndola Central, stating, “All that I am and all that I will ever be; I owe it to the great people and Constituency of Ndola Central.”

Current and Upcoming Projects

Several projects are underway, including:

  • Construction of a Market and Police Post: In Peter Singogo and Dag Hammarskjöld wards respectively.
  • Ablution Blocks and Street Lighting: Planned for St. Andrews School and Kalewa Road.
  • Healthcare and Education Facilities: Upgrading the maternity wing at Nkwazi Clinic and building a classroom block at Kansenshi Combined School.
  • Road Improvements: Enhancements in Mapalo and Twapia, with procurement of a grader for large-scale construction.

Pending projects awaiting approval involve solar lighting installations, road rehabilitation, and facility upgrades at Ndola Remand Correctional Facility and Kamatete Rural Health Centre.

Community Feedback

Residents have commended Tayali’s efforts but also highlighted areas needing attention:

  • Road Conditions: Calls for grading in Hillcrest Extension and upgrades on Minsundu Road.
  • Educational Needs: Requests for development at Chifubu Secondary School and establishment of a combined secondary school in Hillcrest.
  • Sanitation and Infrastructure: Recommendations for improvements at Mulungushi bus stop and construction of drainage on Independence Way.

Philemon Towani and Moses Sandikiya noted specific needs for drainage and road improvements, respectively, while Betty Chomba and Evans Kasalula urged further enhancements in public infrastructure.

Tayali’s approach to constituency development and his responsiveness to community feedback reflect his dedication to both progress and accountability. As he continues to implement and oversee various projects, his focus remains on addressing both completed initiatives and emerging needs within Ndola Central.
