Mporokoso PF Member of Parliament (MP) Brian Mundubile has indicated that the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) party is ready to assist the UPND-led government with ideas to help resolve the country’s current challenges. During a media briefing on Friday, Mundubile expressed frustration with the UPND government’s performance, particularly criticizing the arrogance and boastfulness of UPND ministers despite what he described as a lack of visible progress on the ground.

Mundubile, speaking in Bemba, said the PF had decided to stop “kicking someone who has fallen,” referencing the UPND government’s struggles. He emphasized that the PF recognized the challenges the government was facing and now wanted to focus on offering constructive solutions. He said that it was clear to everyone—”even a child on the streets”—that the UPND government had failed, and it was time to help rather than continue to criticize them.

This move signals a shift in the PF’s approach, from harsh criticism to offering support in the form of ideas on various issues affecting the country. According to Mundubile, the PF has acknowledged the government’s difficulties and is ready to be part of the solution, despite being in the opposition.

The comments reflect ongoing political tension between the PF and UPND, but also a potential opening for dialogue and collaboration in the face of the country’s economic and social challenges. Mundubile’s remarks seem to underscore the importance of unity in tackling national issues, even if political rivals disagree on the approach. It remains to be seen whether the UPND will embrace these offers of support or view them as political opportunism.
